This is Marie, contributing an article about meatballs – specifically, a paleo meatball recipe that Grant turned up. We are unapologetically blase about mixing trends and served ours on noodles, but if you are looking for paleo it’s good up to that point. Continue reading “Pork Sausage Meatballs”

Penzeys Golden Moroccan Lamb Stew
This is Marie, contributing my take on a lamb stew recipe out of the Penzeys catalog. If you have been reading us for a while you know we are great fans of the Penzeys line of spices, and we also really appreciate how they do such a great job including delectable recipes in their catalogs. It’s hard to throw one away! Continue reading “Penzeys Golden Moroccan Lamb Stew”
Balsamic Chicken with Pickled Beets
This is Marie, contributing a recipe for balsamic chicken that did its very best to avoid being presented to you. Seriously, I lost this recipe at least three times, which is silly because I ought to have been able to remember it after one or two readings. So here it is, before the commentary with my alterations in parentheses, just in case: Continue reading “Balsamic Chicken with Pickled Beets”
Red Gold’s Easy Classic Lasagna
This is Marie, contributing a post about a lasagna made for Christmas dinner. It had been quite a while since I’d made one, and since the previous one I’d eaten (at a restaurant) was truly exceptional, the thought came back periodically that lasagna really needed to be on the menu options soon now that the weather was cool. Creamy Tomato Tortellini with Sausage
This is Marie, contributing an article about an easy weekday dinner.

When I was single, I was perfectly happy to make the same thing over and over, eat leftovers, and every once in a while make something wildly creative. He would prefer that I provide a little more daily variety, and offers recipes periodically to encourage and inspire. And occasionally, when I have been particularly monotonous, nag. One Pizza to Please Them All
This is Marie, contributing a story about homemade pizza. I’ve always been a touch picky about toppings and the like, and had thought for quite some time in my optimistic (and somewhat incompetent) twenties that homemade pizza would be the answer – except for the fact that all my attempts had been really disappointing and not at all worth the time. After all, once you factor in the cost of all the ingredients, it really isn’t that much cheaper to do the pizza yourself! Continue reading “One Pizza to Please Them All”
Marie’s Go-To Chili
This is Marie, contributing an article about one of my go-to recipes, chili. Yes, I know, everyone has their own chili recipe, and that is kind of the point. This is one of those foods that you don’t actually follow any kind of instructions for, beyond making sure it has some kind of sauce, some kind of beans, and some kind of powdered pepper.
