I had a little difficulty finding apricots in juice rather than in syrup. You might want to check first whether you can find any before planning to use this recipe, or just wait until the season comes back so you don’t have to take out a second mortgage to use fresh ones. Chicken and Pepper Carbonara

This is Marie, sharing a recipe that I concocted because I couldn’t do what had been planned for the evening. Faced with the challenge of nevertheless making something that we hadn’t had before without being able to use the planned recipe for which the ingredients had been purchased, I poked around in my books and found something that, while all the ingredients for it were not actually present, I could still substitute and hope for the best. Cooking with Red Gold, part one – Spicy Burger

This is Marie, contributing an article about the Red Gold Tomato summer promotion, specifically their burger ideas. I have to admit that it wouldn’t have occurred to me to put a can of tomatoes into burger mix, so it was interesting to try out their suggestions. We had the opportunity to try five of their tomato varieties, along with recipes for five different ways to use them in burgers for the grill, and with some spicy ketchup to slather over whichever of them we tried.
